My name is David Alicea. I have been in various IT roles since I was 18. I started grinding at my university’s help desk and eventually the path led me to a role as a Network Engineer. Along the way I’ve been able to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, a master’s degree in Business Administration as well as a master’s in Network and Communication Management. I am a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Now, I’ve stepped away from operations and currently spend my time on the other side of the table as a Systems Architect with Cisco.
Even though I believe education and diving into studies is essential in my career, there is still something a bit more important and at the top of my list: Family. Spending time with my wife, my son, and my daughter definitely tops anything with an IP address on it. We’re involved in church, we love to travel and there is always time for one of the many board games we play. Somewhere in there is some time for video games.
I love to teach and I love to write. The goal of this blog is to serve as a place I can weave in some past/present stories of things I’ve experienced and worked on throughout my career. There will be jokes. There will be configuration screenshots. There will not be coffee; I cannot provide that here, but I do hope you bring me a cup.
